From 14 to 18 October 2026, HAROPA PORT teams will travel to South Korea. This mission will provide an opportunity to strengthen ties with Korean port stakeholders and meet with several customers and business partners.

HAROPA PORT at the Business Innovation Port Conference

As part of the 14th edition of the Business Innovation Port Conference (BIPC), organized in Busan, Benoît Rochet will speak on 15 September at 1:30 p.m., during Session 2, “The next frontier in port decarbonization”.

The session will bring together several major international ports – Seine corridor, Rotterdam, Seattle, Los Angeles and Barcelona – to discuss the strategies, innovations and cooperation needed to accelerate the energy and environmental transition of the port sector.

Benoît Rochet will present the key initiatives undertaken by HAROPA PORT to make the Seine corridor a more sustainable, resilient and competitive European logistics hub, including:

  • the decarbonization of port activities and logistics, through the electrification of infrastructure, the development of modal shift towards rail and inland waterway transport, as well as river-based urban logistics solutions,
  • biodiversity conservation and the protection of natural areas, with the “Avoid, Reduce, Offset” approach applied from the earliest stages of development projects.

This participation takes on particular significance as Busan port authority is celebrating the 150th anniversary of its port this year, providing an additional opportunity to strengthen dialogue and cooperation between major international ports.

Meetings with customers and partners

Alongside the conference and anniversary celebrations, Benoît Rochet and Cédric Virciglio will travel to Seoul and Incheon on 17 and 18 September to meet with several customers and partners. These meetings will provide an opportunity to discuss the development prospects for trade flows between South Korea and the Seine corridor, highlight HAROPA PORT’s logistics and industrial strengths, and identify new opportunities for cooperation.

The visit reflects France’s leading port’s commitment to strengthening its ties with South Korea, a strategic partner for maritime trade between Asia and Europe.
